  1. Wash the face morning and night. The sebaceous glands continue to produce sebum even while you are asleep. This is also the time when the body sheds dead cells. Washing the face in the morning can prevent the accumulation of dead skin cells. It is also makes sense to wash your face at night before going to bed. Your skin can acquire dirt and bacteria while you do about your daily chores. Wash it all away before sleeping. Using sulfur-based soap, or a mild facial cleanser can help.

  2. Take vitamin supplements. Pimples can be a sign that something is wrong inside. It may be because the body is lacking in Vitamin E or C, which are both essential in skin regeneration. To make sure that you get enough doses of these substances daily, taking supplements may work. Consult your doctor first to overrule the presence of any medical condition, though.

  3. Avoid oily cosmetics. Makeups contain oil that can irritate the skin. Choose cosmetics that are labeled as ‘comedogenic’. Water-based make-ups will not clog your pores like oil-based make-ups do. If possible, avoid wearing make-ups at all.

  4. Avoid touching your face. The hands easily acquire dirt and germs. Do not pass on these unwanted elements to your face by touching it. If you cannot help it, just be sure to wash your hands first.
